Privacy Policy for Sentence Samurai

1. Introduction

Frederick Ige ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Sentence Samurai mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.

2. Information Collection and Use

We do not collect any personal information. Sentence Samurai is designed with privacy as a priority.

2.1 Data Stored Locally

The following information is stored locally on your device only:

• User Preferences: Your selected difficulty level, topics, sentence length, audio speed, furigana settings, and dark mode preference
• Custom Content: Any custom topics or styles you create
• History: Previously generated sentences you've viewed
• Favorites: Sentences you've marked as favorites
• Cache: Temporarily stored sentence data, audio files, and breakdown information for faster access

All of this data is stored using iOS local storage (AsyncStorage) and never leaves your device. We cannot access this information, and it is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

2.2 Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party service:

• OpenAI API: Used to generate practice sentences and translations. When you request a new sentence, the App sends your selected difficulty level, topic, and sentence preferences to OpenAI's servers. 2.3 Dictionary Data

The App includes an offline dictionary using data from JMdict, which is stored locally on your device. Dictionary lookups are performed entirely on your device and do not require internet connectivity.

3. No Data Collection

We do not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• Device identifiers
• Location data
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Crash reports
• Any other user data

4. No Analytics or Tracking

The App does not use any analytics frameworks, tracking SDKs, or advertising networks. We do not track how you use the App, which features you use most, or any other usage patterns.

5. No Third-Party Sharing

Since we do not collect any data, we do not share, sell, rent, or trade any information with third parties.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children or any other users. The App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

7. Data Security

All data stored by the App remains on your device and is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.). We use HTTPS for all network communications to OpenAI's API to ensure data transmitted during sentence generation is encrypted.

8. Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is stored locally on your device
• Deletion: You can clear your history and favorites within the App settings, or delete all App data by uninstalling the App
• Portability: Your data exists only on your device and is not stored in any external database

9. External Links

The App includes links to external websites (such as Jisho.org for word verification). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies when visiting such sites.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
